When talking about gecko, there are so many kinds of gecko around the world. One of them is tangerine leopard gecko. It is a kind of leopard gecko that has orange or tangerine hues in the body. The orange colors also appear in all 3 strains of Albinos.

This leopard gecko is still divided into some categories. The categories are based on the amount of head spots, carrot tail, and spots on the back. So, you need to know each of them clearly.

Types of Tangerine Leopard Gecko

There are many different Tangerine Leopard Gecko types you can find around the world. Here are the main categories you have to know and we let’s know more about them all.

Super Hypo Tangerine

The first is Super Hypo Tangerine Gecko. Usually, it is better known as SHT. SHT is a kind of leopard gecko that comes with tangerine color on the body and there is no black spot.

However, not all SHTs look same. You have to be careful because they may look different from one to another.

Tangerine Carrot Tail

The second is Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail Gecko. This is a category of leopard gecko that does not have body spot. Besides that, it has at least 15 percent of carrot tail.

In addition, this kind of leopard gecko also has tangerine / orange color on the most of the body. Some people still classify this kind of leopard gecko into some names.

Baldy Tangerine

Another one is Baldy Tangerine Gecko. This is a kind of Super Hypo Tangerine that has no spot on the head. That is why it is called as baldy tangerine.

This kind of tangerine gecko was firstly found by Gourmet Rodent. It is similar to Super Hypo Carrot Tail and Super Hypo where the character is believed to be Poly Genetic or Line-Bred. It means, producing baldy tangerine requires petting leopard gecko that has the least head spots.

Tangerine Leopard Gecko Care

When it comes to how to care for a leopard gecko, you have to know about the foods (and cage). Leopard gecko can eat certain kinds of fruits and vegetables. Besides that, leopard gecko also loves insects such as roaches, superworms, mealworms, and crickets. They become excellent diet for leopard gecko.

Food can affect the lifespan. If a leopard gecko lives with proper foods, the lifespan can reach more than 10 or even 20 years. However, a leopard gecko without food will only survive no more than 2 weeks.

If you pet a leopard gecko, you need to feed your gecko every day. You have to make sure that the amount of food meets what your gecko needs. And let your gecko eat the foods as desired. For example, you can provide cricket, mealworms, etc. To keep your gecko alive, sometimes you need to feed vitamins to get the needed nutrients. Last, you have to know that geckos eat everything that moves in front of them. So, they usually do not eat died insects.
